Backyard Sunrise: The Elusive Chase

Another morning missed. Another apology owed to the sunrise.

Clouds rolled in today, thick and unyielding, masking what might have been a spectacular start to the day. And daylight savings? Well, that just means the sun now sneaks up far too early, catching me off guard before I’ve had the chance to appreciate it.

Last week, I took it easy—adjusting to this new rhythm, letting the transition sink in. No alarms. No deadlines. No rushing out the door. Just time. A rare and welcome luxury.

But the pull of the horizon is strong, and the streak of missed mornings can’t last forever. This week, I’ll make it out. Whether it’s the soft glow of sunrise or the fiery fade of sunset, I’ll be there—camera in hand, ready to capture what nature has patiently been waiting to reveal.
